Non-Surgical Breast Treatment
Sometimes the right answer isn't surgery. For lumps that don't need removal and pain that responds to other care, we manage things with medication, watchful follow-up, and small changes that often make a real difference.

What is non-surgical breast treatment?
Not every breast condition needs an operation. Many — pain, certain benign lumps, fibrocystic changes, mild infections, hormonal symptoms — respond well to medication, lifestyle adjustments, and structured monitoring. Knowing when surgery is the wrong answer is as important as knowing when it's the right one.
Non-surgical management isn't a 'do nothing' approach. It involves a clear diagnosis, a plan with goals, and follow-up to check things are improving.
Who this is for
- A benign lump that's not growing and isn't causing problems
- Cyclical breast pain that hasn't been investigated
- Fibrocystic changes causing mild discomfort
- Recurrent breast issues where the underlying cause needs addressing first
How it's done
Diagnosis first
Before deciding to skip surgery, we make sure of what we're not operating on. That means clinical exam, imaging, and (where appropriate) biopsy.
Medication and lifestyle
Depending on the condition: pain relief, evening primrose oil, dietary changes, supportive bras, hormonal review, or specific medications.
Structured monitoring
Follow-up imaging at 3, 6, or 12 months as needed, so any change is caught early.
Questions worth asking
We'll explain the reasoning. If imaging and biopsy say a lump is benign and stable, monitoring is safe. If anything changes, we re-evaluate.

Breast pain is rarely cancer. It's still worth checking, because the relief of knowing what it actually is matters. We work out the cause and what to do about it in the first consultation.

Found a lump and not sure what it is? Clinical exam, ultrasound or mammogram, and a needle biopsy if needed, often in one visit. You leave with an answer rather than a wait.
Learn moreMicrowave Ablation
A scarless alternative to surgery for some breast lumps and thyroid nodules. We use ultrasound to guide a single thin needle that heats and shrinks the lesion from the inside. No cut, no stitches, home the same day.
